Hello! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in North Fulton County, Metro-Atlanta, Georgia, and my office is in Roswell. I can provide video sessions ("Tele Mental Health") throughout the state of Georgia. My primary areas of specialty are Trauma/PTSD/CPTSD, and Transgender - from Questioning to coming out, coping and transitioning. LGBTQI all welcome.
I have specialized training, and have been working extensively in Trauma therapy for 17 years, with everything from single incident trauma to Complex-PTSD, including DID, OSDD, and extreme cases of SRA. (For a “Definition of Terms” for any abbreviations you don’t understand, please go to my Blog page. I intend to add more content to it. And please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions.) I am fully trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, both of which I have used successfully with clients for years. I also utilize IFST (Internal Family Systems Therapy) as is useful with many clients, not just those dealing with trauma.
In addition, I work with all LGBTQI people. I have helped hundreds of trans people through the transition process - from questioning, exploring and decision making, coming out and presenting, through social and medical transition, surgeries, and re-acclimation into daily life post-transition. Granted, some trans people say transition is never really over, that it's a life-long journey. Many family members of trans people have also been greatly helped by me in learning to better understand what their loved one is thinking and feeling, and learning how to be better support people.
Having been working in this field a total of 27 years, I also have lots of experience with more common issues like major depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, self worth issues, communication problems, disempowerment, life transitions, relationship problems, difficult changes and adjustments, decision making, grief and loss, self harm and suicidality.
